Breaking News

According to the breaking news above, 305 people died, and we would be shocked. Boeing stock would take a hit irrespective of the fact that weather was probably the cause. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox News would be gearing up for wall-to-wall coverage; reporters would be jumping on flights to Anchorage and Adak; researchers would be looking everywhere to find dirt on the pilots and discover any friends or family of the victims so they could interview them and increase the networks' ratings. The FAA, NTSB, Teachers' Union, every student organization across the globe, along with senators and members of Congress would begin hollering for answers. My God, 250 young men and women dead…
But it does happen every day. At the current rate, we are losing around 300 people a day to drug overdoses.
Why is that not headline news? Is it not spectacular enough? Or have we just become inured to it?
